Why Sterilization is Necessary
ETO Sterilization by Egypt Herbs
At Egypt Herbs, we use Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sterilization for products that are sensitive to heat and moisture. This low-temperature method (30–70°C) safely eliminates microorganisms while protecting delicate materials that cannot withstand high-temperature steam sterilization.
During the process, ETO gas—combined with CO₂ or steam for improved penetration—sterilizes the products under controlled temperature and humidity. A typical cycle lasts 36–48 hours, depending on the product and packaging.
After sterilization, the chamber undergoes multiple air exchanges to remove all residual gas, ensuring the products are safe, clean, and ready for use or export.
Steam Sterilization by Egypt Herbs
At Egypt Herbs, we use steam sterilization as a natural and highly effective method to ensure the safety and quality of herbs and spices. This process uses high-pressure steam to eliminate microorganisms while preserving the product’s natural color, flavor, and aroma.
Steam sterilization is carried out at controlled temperatures between 121°C and 130°C for 15 to 60 seconds, ensuring effective microbial reduction without affecting product quality. After treatment, products are quickly cooled and dried to maintain their premium freshness and appearance.
